Transit and Your Health – Discover the many ways you can make a difference

On Sunday, March13 we invite you to to a Citizen Participation event focusing on the health affects of our transit choices and healthy ways to get out into nature. Come out and hear Shireen Malekafzali, Senior Associate with PolicyLink share information about the health benefits of Transit Oriented Development and learn about local efforts under way. Laura Thompson, Bay Trail Project Manager at the Association of Bay Area Governments, will share tips for biking or hiking the 325 miles completed of Bay Trail. The trail, which circles the Bay, stretches from San Jose to Napa, and upon completion will reach 500 miles. And Kelly Gregory, co-author of Post-Car Adventuring will give us some tips on making car-free trips out to nature. Join us before hand for a short bike ride to a segment of the Bay Trail. Our host Sports Basement is offering 10% off purchases made on the evening of the event to all attendees. And we’ll be looking for participants for our upcoming ‘Transit to Trails’ webisode.

Location: Sports Basement, 1590 Bryant St, San Francisco

Date/Time: Sunday, March 13, 5 - 7 pm. To join the bike ride, meet us in front of the store at 3:30 pm.
